Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument, New Mexico
Monday was like a spring day here, sunny and pushing up against 70 degrees. Not our normal November weather. There were lots of birds in the backyard. All these shots were taken without even getting up out of my deck chair. Beer in one hand, camera in the other.
This guy took one of my backyard birds this afternoon. Wish it had been one of those obnoxious squirrels. By the time I spotted him his prey was too far gone to ID. Hope it wasn’t one of the song sparrows. I think he’s a sharp-shinned hawk.
The neighborhood bluejay.
Suffering from a plague of squirrels. One of four youngsters that are constantly messing about in the yard, getting into my bird feeder and eating my roses. I’m guessing they are siblings. I chase them out but they come right back.
Before and after: 1925 Conn New Wonder alto found at an estate sale. Glad to be able to restore her to her original beauty. She’s singing sweetly again. Great job by Dan at Music Village.
